An interesting discussion arose one evening during a small group meeting regarding free will vs predestination.  And the question was posed, "Are you a puppet?"  So, let's see what scripture as to say about free will.

We have desires - John 15:7

We must believe - John 6:28,29

We have choices - Deuteronomy 30:19

But, what about predestination?

We have been chosen and predestined - Ephesians 1:11-12

God can harden hearts -

God has control over everything -

In conclusion, we have free will, but we should offer that up as a sacrifice to God to become his puppet.  Matthew 6:10 states that we are to pray this way "your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."  So, we should desire and strive to be "puppets" subject to the will of the Master for His glory and honor.
