Olive Tree, a software company I have loved since my Palm Pilot days, has read my mind.  Their BibleReader 5.0 app ($0.99) now supports a split screen view with your notes.

So, what I once did with Evernote and BibleGateway.com, I can now do on my new iPad!  Best of all, it still syncs with Evernote.  It works best with a Bluetooth keyboard, because even on an iPad a screen split 3 ways does not leave enough room.  And, all the books or translations you've bought with your Olive Tree account can be downloaded at no additional charge to the new app.
