Summer Fun
Well I'm so excited John has changed our web page so I can do more fun things with this. Facebook is fun but I can share more on here and connect with out of town family!
Charlotte finished up with school in the beginning of June with good grades and promotions to the next grade (8th). Char participated in Track this year and it made the year go by so quickly. as she had track every day along with softball practice once a week and youth group once a week! Charlotte had a small injury as she was sliding into home plate for a run in she cut her ankle on home plate, but has healed well. Her team has now made it to the playoffs and won their first game so next week they will play again, if they win that game they will play in the championship game on Saturday. Charlotte is also going to Skyview ranch next week for camp where she is excited to meet new people and hopefully be fed by God's Word!Spencer has finished 1st grade and had a much better year than last. His teacher was not so good last year and it really had us worried how things would go for first grade, but he had a great teacher. We saw great improvements and he is now spelling everything to us. It makes me remember when Char did that same thing when she started reading! He is very active and eager to to help anyone and everyone! He loves to be outside and it always "working on a project" He even got tools for his birthday so he can build a ladder. He has been camping with Grandma and Grandpa Evans and is outside everyday rain or shine!
Savannah is two need I say more? No she is so sweet and a little sassy but melts our heart. I just love to hear her talk and have a conversation with her. She is loving the kids being home this summer and being able to follow them around and play with them. Dana our neighbor helped me out this past school year watching her while I went and got Char from Track practice occasionally! Savannah is also learning to share with Lilah!
Lilah Grace is almost 9mo now and is crawling and trying to stand and is just happy as a clam! She is just an easy going, happy baby. She was on her first camping trip and did the best out of everyone! She is loving her homemade baby food and her time with all the kids home. She has also learned to clap for Charlotte at her games. She also claps when we put her to bed. I think she like the peace and quite of her room!
John and I are staying busy with four wonderful kids. John is still with QuadStar and is really enjoying his job, while I stay home and keep things moving here. I have decided to make my own baby food so Lilah has tried zucchini, squash, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, peas, green beans, bananas, peaches, apples, mango, avocado chicken casserole, and spaghetti. I really enjoy making her food and seeing her love it. I did buy some food while we went camping and she liked it but was happy to have fresh bananas and such when we got home. I'm pretty busy just keeping up with housework, laundry, and chasing four kids around but I still find time to be active at church. I'm still in charge of the Nursery and also on the kitchen committee, hospitality committee, and women's committee. Women's committee has been a great opportunity to help reach other women of our church and bring them closer as sisters in Christ! I also have been able to spend time decorating for VBS. Our pool is also a very fun part of our life as it brings many children to the Evans house. Char has had her softball team over as well as some friends from youth group over. Our house almost always has a least one extra kid here and it is awesome to be the house where kids want to come. John and I have a desire to have our house always open to kids so we know where our kids are and know it is a safe environment for everyone.
Our family vacation was a trip to Atwood Lake for the Alive festival for 4 days and nights! We were able to see Praise-Apella, Mark Schultz, Steven Curtis-Chapman,David Crowder Band, Chris Tomlin and TobyMac. Charlotte stood 4 people away from TobyMac and was very excited to be so close. We also were able to met Praise-Apella and get autographs. It was a lot of walking for the little ones as the main stage was about a 20 min. walk from our camper and it was HOT but we had a good time and enjoyed praising God with so many other people! We had some rough days but by Saturday night it was all worth it as we stood in a huge field and were Praising God!
Well I think that is our summer so far. We will now start to slow down as camp will be next week and softball will be over so now we are just chilling at home, swimming in our pool and getting ready for VBS. Then we have a few things in August but just a few busy days not weeks! Mommy is tired and needs to relax!
